NFL Week 6 Preview and Picks

What's your Game of the Week? Otherwise, provide your own one-line analysis for the game of your choice in the Comments section.

Panthers over Ravens: Baltimore is coming off of a short week, not to mention a loss at Denver. Carolina is rounding into top-tier shape. It's the G.O.T.W., begrudgingly.

Falcons over Giants: Jerious Norwood is the new Reggie Bush. (Here's the argument.)

Cowboys over Texans: I question why T.O. is in Dallas, too. After another week of being shut-out, could he crack up even WORSE?

Bills over Lions: Nursing a beat-down by the Bears? Detroit's the cure for what ails ya.

Rams over Seahawks: UPDATE! I've flip-flopped on this, because it totally slipped my mind that the Rams signed ex-Seahawk Isaiah Kacyvenski, who will tip off all of Seattle's plays. Whee!

Eagles over Saints: Or maybe that title belongs to the Saints.

Bengals over Bucs: On the bright side, the Bucs don't NEED Chris Simms anymore, now that Bruce Gradkowski is The Man.

Redskins over Titans: Another "cure-for-what-ails-ya" game, for a team that needs it badly.

Dolphins over Jets: I can't believe I'm pinning my prognostication success rate on Joey Harrington.

Steelers over Chiefs: Just as long as Troy Polamalu doesn't rip Larry Johnson down by the facemask.

Chargers over 49ers: Considering how good the Bolts looked last week beating the Steelers, this game doesn't seem fair.

Broncos over Raiders: NBC can't wait for "flex" scheduling, to avoid Sunday Night clunkers like this one.

Bears over Cards: Worthy of "Monday Night" treatment, if only because Chicago is the best team in the NFL right now.

Last week: 12-2 (Season-best!)
'06 season: 48-26

Panthers come up to their proper level after starting 0-2....Ravens drop down to their proper level after starting 4-0....Panthers "relatively" easy (16-7?)

I think St Louis may pull the upset at home on Sunday. They are playing really well (probably above their heads) but that will be my upset pick. Did you notice the point spreads this week? Parity is gone. Check out my blog for my commments on that

Remember when this matchup was considered THE G.O.T.W.? Was it really only 3-4 years ago? Seems like 20.

The only intrigue in this game will be to 1)compare Art Shell's facial expressions to Bill Simmons' descriptions and 2)see if Mike Shanahan orders Jake Plummer or Jay Cutler to throw a football at the head of Al Davis.

The Lions are shooting for the first imperfect season in NFL history. 0-16 here we come!!!!

No way, the Raiders are almost a lock for an 0-16 season. The Lions will win, despite Matt Millen.

I wonder how many Joel Zumaya jerseys Matt Millen owns?

The best line in Simmons' column today came from an email pointing out that Denver averages 12.25 a game and is still favored by 15.

so are these picks with or without the spreads? I've got money on this damnit!

How much will the Bears win by on Monday?

Leinert will have to get rid of the ball immediately. The Bears D Line is going to have fun against Arizona's terrible offensive line.

#1 Dan, going 12-2 in a week where the odds went 14-0 is not impressive even if that is your best week of the season.

It's been done before by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1976. Nice try though.

I agree with Dan on every point except the Miami game. I think New York pulls the upset.

I have to agree, picking without the spread has no meaning. We know DEN and CHI are going to win their games this weekend, but are they going to cover? (I say yes to both).

I will repeat with the others on here - please pick your games against the spread! Otherwise they are meaningless.

Shoot Dan a quick email and let him know.
